Due to be held from March 26 to July 27, 2014, the event will aim to highlight the difference and transformation of film stars from their on-screen persona to real life glamorous red carpet avatars.

The exhibits will include a Giorgio Armani silk gown donned by actress Glen Close when she was chosen as nominee for the Best Actress Award for her 1998 movie ‘Fatal Attraction’.

The display will also feature a dark green coloured Zac Posen-designed gown and jacket ensemble worn by the same actress when she was nominated under the best actress category for her performance in the 2011 film ‘Albert Nobbs’.

Additionally, Amy Adam’s dramatic Oscar de la Renta beaded and tulle embellished gown (2012), Jessica Chastain’s glamorous beaded Giorgio Armani dress from the 2013 ceremony and the midnight blue ball gown designed by Carolina Herrera for Rene Zellwegger’s 2001 Oscars appearance will also form a part of the exhibition.

Speaking about the upcoming exhibit, the museum’s fashion curator Dennita Sewell explained, “Over the last 30 years the increasing importance of Oscar red carpet moments not only define the height of evening glamour but have also become a key global marketing focus for some designers. These dresses will showcase the ultimate creations of the top fashion designers on the world’s biggest stage.”
