The just wrapped up edition of Mercedes Benz China Fashion Week showcased nearly 30 avant-garde Autumn/Winter 2014 catwalk parades, staged by a host of more than 47 new and seasoned designers.

Emerging designer Ban Xiaoxue showcased a very interesting range made using vivid tones of black, white and red on the second day of the event. Replete with embroidery, the pieces were made from cotton and linen.

Seccry Sheguang Hu Collection, the exquisite fashion line from the Chinese-Dutch designer Sheguang Hu featured a flowy range of soft shimmering silk ensembles. Based on a bright palette of red, grey, emerald and bottle green, the collection included gowns with sweeping trains, mermaid style skirts, ruffled blouses and some sexy innerwear pieces.

Kuala Lumpur-based designer Shea Rasol showcased a regal range made from heavy-duty brocade and faux fur. Incorporated with rich shades of emerald green, gold, taupe and black, the traditionally cut collection included dresses, cloaks and a variety of outerwear pieces.

The Hong Kong Fashion Collection displayed several casual streetwear ensembles, adorned with luxe motifs and geometrical prints. Replete with no-fuss simple straightforward silhouettes, some of the standout ensembles of the collection included giant lipstick print tops and roomy patterned pants.

Other than the individual designers’ runway shows, the week-long Beijing event also held a swimsuit design competition for the up and coming fashion design students as well as a joint catwalk parade showcasing more than 23 eco-friendly designs.
