Brazilian fashion designer Patricia Viera opened the 25th edition of the much awaited South American fashion fest Fashion Rio with her fresh line of Summer- 2014/15 looks.

Inspired from the relaxed life of Uruguayan resort, the designer showcased a knit and crochet heavy range. Based on a beachside palette of sunny and aquamarine hues such as sand, navy and green, the home-grown talent displayed midis, jackets, shorts, shirts, swimsuits, bikinis and caftans.

Taking cues from Italian and classical Baroque styles, the Rio de Janeiro-based brand Alessa’s designer Alessa Migani presented clothing designs adorned with art gallery like patterns. Made using silk, satin and neoprene fabrics, the tailored midi length and cinched waist looks were peppered with tones of blue, rose, white and black colours along with a dash of golden thread embroidery.

In addition to the above mentioned names, labels like Auslander and Osklen Beach also showcased their interpretations for the next season trends on the opening day of the Brazilian event, slated to run through April 11, 2014.
