More than 80 designers will showcase their lines of avant-garde ready-to-wear creations at the forthcoming Malaysian fashion event Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW).

Entering into its second year, the event will aim to serve as a platform to promote both young and seasoned Malaysian designers along with three foreign talents belonging to Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines.

Slated to take place from June 18 to 22, 2014, the upcoming event has been themed as The Runway Collection, which will highlight some new runway-worthy distinctive lines and structures that are yet to be released in the mass market.

Designers like Farah Khan, Jovian Mandagie, Alia Bastaman, Zakwan Anuar, Bon Zainal, Kavita Kaur and Tom Abang Saufi will present their Fall/Winter collections at the soiree.

In a bid to support the emerging talents, the event will host two catwalk parades, entitled UITM8 (which will feature eight fashion design students from Universiti Teknologi MARA) and SHOW3 (which would showcase rising Malaysian labels).

Founder of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, Mr. Andrew Tan stated, “This year, we have challenged the Malaysian fashion designers to push their boundaries and perception of Ready-To-Wear by presenting breathtaking collections on the KLFW runway. We’re in for a riveting fashion week!”
