Global Sources’ fourth annual China Sourcing Fairs opens at the Miami Beach Convention Center bringing buyers from Latin and North America face-to-face with manufacturers of quality Asia and China made products. The five co-located shows, covering electronics, gifts and premiums, home products, fashion accessories and garments and textiles, will run through June 21.

"The majority of exhibitors at this year's Fairs have strong existing ties to American buyers and will present product portfolios that meet consumer demand in both Latin and North America," said Tommy Wong, President of Global Sources Exhibitions. "Over half of the exhibitors are planning to launch brand-new products at the show giving buyers the opportunity to attract consumer interest with products not seen before," he added.

One exhibitor, David Shen, General Manager of Electrochem Automation (Shanghai) Co., said, "Exhibiting here again was an easy decision for us to make due to the quality of the buyers and distributors we meet. We've found the event to be a perfect location for expanding our business into North America's established markets and Latin America's emerging markets."

Attending the fourth annual China Sourcing Fairs opening ceremony is Ma Hua, Deputy Director-General of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and Daniel Alfonso, City Manager of the City of Miami.

The Fairs are also well supported by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, Dongguan Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Shenzhen Promotion Association for Small and Medium Enterprises, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Pudong Sub-council and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Suzhou Branch.

China to become Latin America's second-largest economic partner
"Miami is at the center of trade with Latin America. China is forecast to surpass the EU as Latin-America's second-largest economic partner by 2016 and we look forward to the Fairs going from strength to strength in the years ahead," said Wong. "With Miami's strategic location, we have professional buyers from the Caribbean and South America to attend these Fairs. In fact, last year's events have attracted buyers from more than 60 different countries to attend," he added.

In the 2013 event, the City of Miami Beach presented Global Sources with an official Proclamation designating June 25, 2013 as "Global Sources Day", in recognition of the company's contribution to international trade, particularly to the city where it has held the Fairs since 2011.

Unique to the Fairs, the "Smart China Sourcing" conference will feature industry veterans sharing valuable knowledge on strategic sourcing in China, new market exploration and purchasing strategies.
