An array of colourful beachwear and swimwear lines, meant for both adults and children, were displayed at the just concluded seventh edition of Gran Canaria Moda Calida Fashion Week.

Designer brand Virtudes Langa drew inspiration from the sandy beaches of Maspalomas, a picturesque town in Canary Islands, for its latest 20-piece range. The line featured 16 shiny silk bikinis and monokinis with fluorescent straps for women and around 4 beach and swim shorts for men.

The portal city of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria played as muse for designer Nuria González’s new collection, which was decorated with printed images of wood textures and boats, as well as geometric dots and stripes.

Designer Aurelia Gil opted to showcase a sporty swimwear line, which included grids and lycra crafted comfortable pieces inspired from surfing costumes, contemporary trends and corsetry, whereas Spanish firm Dolores Cortés took inspiration from the beaches and fishing villages of the Hamptons (New York) for its majorly nude tone-based ensembles.

Juan Carlos Armas and Ascensión Gómez, the designer duo behind The Knot Company label, showcased a male swimsuit collection replete with smart T-shirts, shorts and swimming trunks, while the Australian brand We Are Handsome presented bikinis, swimsuits, one-piece beachwear, leggings, tops and dresses at the soiree.
