After hosting several womenswear focused runway events, Toronto, the style savvy city of Canada, is now set to launch its first-ever menswear centric fashion event titled Toronto Men’s Fashion Week (TOMFW).

Scheduled to take place from August 11 to 15, 2014, the soiree will feature creations from several emerging and well-established Canadian and international men’s fashion designers.

Names like Christopher Bates, the Italy-based Istituto Marangoni graduate and Toronto-based designer known for his unique blend of Scandinavian and Italian aesthetics, and Farley Chatto, the young talent who has worked with international labels like Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan, would present their collections at the event.

Also David Hart NYC (the New York-based specialist in American sportswear-inspired clothing), Hussein Dhalla of HD Homme (the self taught Toronto designer specializing in men’s eveningwear) and the urbanwear label Christian L’enfant Roi would also feature their avant-garde creations at the soiree.

In addition to the runway shows, the event will also host the EDMA Emerging Menswear Design Award ceremony, which will honour the best Spring/Summer 2015 collection by the young participants.

The forthcoming five-day soiree will be the eighth menswear-only showcase in the world after the male fashion dedicated events in Milan, Paris, Vancouver, Florence, Singapore, Los Angeles and London.
