Over 116 yarn makers partake in Pitti Filati

More than 116 yarn makers from across the world showcased their latest autumn-winter 2015-2016 collections in the just wrapped up 75th edition of Pitti Filati, an international event for the knitting yarn industry.
 
Held in the city of Florence, Italy, the three-day event saw products from 21 foreign yarn manufacturers belonging to nations like Great Britain, Japan, Turkey, China, Germany, Peru and Romania.
 
The event highlighted new lines of technically enhanced and treated threads including knits, cashmere, water repellent cashmere and lamb wool.
 
The fair also saw a display of latest fashion trends created by some 25 exhibitors under the artistic direction of fashion designer Angelo Figus and knitwear expert Nicola Miller. 
 
The event also hosted the ‘I Love Denim’ exhibit which included an array of archived denim crafted garments from nearly 30 exhibitors specializing in vintage and remade clothing and accessories.
 
A research lab and an observatory that tested the latest yarn innovations and analyzed global lifestyle trends were also organized on the sidelines of the event.
 
Pitti Filati was attended by over 2,400 buyers from Germany, Great Britain, United States, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Canada, Australia and Singapore.
