A wide array of textile innovations used in the fields of clothing, transport, sports, housing, architecture, geotextiles, medicine, wellness and protection have been put on display at the ongoing third edition of Futurotextiles in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Slated to run through November 2, 2014, the exhibition aims to promote the latest scientific, technological, design, fashion and art innovations in textiles sourced from countries like France, Europe and Argentina.

The event also gives an up and close view of the diverse world of textiles, ranging from fibre weaves and knitwear to composites and nonwovens.

The major attractions of the exhibit are unusual fabrics derived from coffee, basalt, milk casein, sugar beet, hemp bricks, body linen and special textile-made artificial human organs.

Initiated in France in 2006, Futurotextiles has travelled through cities like Lille, Istanbul, Bangkok, Prato, Barcelona, Shanghai, Paris and Bucharest.
