Neptune, the Roman counterpart of the Greek God of seas Poseidon, played as muse for Turkish menswear designer Giray Sepin’s latest Spring/Summer 2015 collection showcased at the just held instalment of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Istanbul.

Based on varying shades of marine blue such as white, ecru navy blue, black and silver, the colourful yet functional clothing range was replete with 3-D geometric patterns. Made using both natural and technical fibres including cotton, waterproof taffeta and nylon, the featured pieces were oversized bomber jackets, trench-coats, raincoats, jacquard adorned knitwear and sailor uniform-inspired designs.

Drawing inspiration from the Basque-born rock climber Josune Bereziartu, the fashion label Burçe Bekrek created its new range. Based on earthy tones of black, green, beige and brown shades, the delicate satin and polished silk crafted line was enhanced with clean cuts and jewelled zips.

In addition to the aforementioned names, the five-day event also saw collections from names like Hakan Akkaya, Ekri A + White Posture, Zeynep Erdogan and Gülçin Hook. (PB)
