The Indian fashion design duo Falguni and Shane Peacock scooped up the prestigious World Designer Fashion Award at the ongoing 64th edition of the Miss World beauty pageant.

The duo’s exemplary creation featuring a fitted gown with a thigh-high slit was worn by the Indian beauty queen and one of the 125 contestants of the pageant, Koyal Rana.

Apart from Falguni and Shane Peacock’s winning ensemble, the competition honoured Scottish designers Eleganza Sposa and Siobhan Mackenzie for their gown donned by the Miss World Scotland Ellie McKeating.

The third trophy went to the Dominican Republican designer Keyther Estévez’s creation for Miss World Dominican Republic, Dhio Moreno.

Judged by the likes of Mike Dixon, Donna Darby, Andrew Minarik and Miss World Chairman, Julia Morley, the World Designer Fashion Competition judges the contestants on the basis of their dresses created by designers from their home countries.

The Mumbai-based husband and wife team Falguni and Shane Peacock are known for their Indian couture embroidery, feathers and prints enriched creations. The duo has dressed several international celebs including Paris Hilton, Rihanna and The Newsroom actor Olivia Munn.

The finale of Miss World pageant will be held in London on December 14, 2014. (PB)
