Lakmé Fashion Week to launch six names at 19th Gen Next

Bangalore’s national Institute of Fashion Technology alumnus Priyanka Ella Lorena Lama’s line took inspiration from ‘Utopia,’ an ideal state of enlightenment. Her designs symbolize a cohesive force carried by unsophisticated values. Her label, P.E.L.L.A, aims to create a world of imagination, inspiration and innovation. Describing the brand’s philosophy, she adds, “The idea is to create aesthetics through deliberate imperfections with a minimalistic design language.”

Salita Nanda, the London College of Fashion studied designer from Pune, will showcase a line themed Demoiselles (meaning young ladies), based on Picasso’s cubist painting, Les demoiselles d’Avignon. Salita describes her range as, “The collection is an amalgamation of a beautiful piece of art and a touch of pop. The African undertones in the painting translate into prints and symbols like love, beauty and strength.”

The forthcoming edition of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015 is scheduled to take place from March 20 to 24, 2015.

Hosted twice a year, the Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is jointly organized by the Indian cosmetics and beauty services brand Lakmé and IMG Reliance, the global leader in sports and entertainment event marketing and management. (PB)
