Myriad designs in outerwear category, created by some of the most eminent names from the American design industry, seems to be the major highlight of ongoing Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.

Designer Nicole Miller’s presented an assortment of prints in her latest dark arts forest inspired collection. Replete with layers, the chunky creations were enhanced with furry trims dyed with interesting colours to complement the prints.

Drawing inspiration from American singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist Patti Smith, Rebecca Minkoff created a very wearable layer heavy collection infused with elements from 1970’s trends. Detailed with fringes and shapeless silhouettes, the boho-chic line showed cardigans, swingy cropped shearling clothing and peep-toe suede decorated footwear.

Monique Lhuillier incorporated menswear elements into her latest woemnswear creations. Accentuated with strong exaggerated square shoulders and edgy style details, the line included cigarette pants, printed jacquard jackets, tuxedos, flowing chiffon dresses and pretty blouses. (PB)
