The modest, diverse yet constantly evolving style of Australian Muslim women has become the subject of an ongoing exhibit at Powerhouse Museum, located in New South Wales, Australia.

Dubbed as Faith, Fashion, Fusion: Muslim women’s style in Australia, the display aims to highlight Sydney’s emerging modest fashion market by showcasing the contemporary trend and clothing solutions provided by young fashion designers, retailers and bloggers.

A balanced mix of modern style elements blended beautifully into the prerequisites of Islamic faith, the showcased exhibits include long flowing colourful gowns, printed hijabs, jackets and floral floor skimming skirts.

Due to run through June 13, 2015, the apparel display also includes photography, treasured objects and interviews with prominent Australian Muslim women, including the Sydney-based, Saudi Arabian-born Palestinian writer Arwa El-Masri. (PB)
