27th Celebration of Textiles – wonder of handmade textiles & fiber art

A unique opportunity for artists' demonstrations and hands-on activities will see local artists work on quilt, spin and weave at this exposition on June 4-5, 2005.

Learn to batik cloth and make a felt container and witness a special display of textile art by local students

Also watch sheep shearing* at 11 am & 2:30 pm in the Museum's garden (Saturday only)

Besides, there will be themes on display like:

* Beyond the Bag: Textiles as Containers thru
June 5
* Textiles for This World and Beyond: Treasures
from Insular
Southeast Asia thru September 18
* Textile Learning Center ongoing

Organizers inform that all described activities will be available on Saturday, June 4. Further, a limited selection of demonstrations and activities will be available on Sunday, June 5.

Food concessions provided by Satay Sarinah, an Indonesian restaurant nearest Metro Station: Red Line, Dupont Circle, Q Street.
