The 60th edition of ModaPrima, the international exhibition for fashion and accessories collections, exhibited 129 collections and attracted 1,992 visitors, over 50 percent of them were foreigners, coming from about 55 countries from May 28 to 30, 10 percent more than a year earlier.
The exhibition was organized by Pitti Immagine for the first time. It has become part of the network of fashion events that the company manages in Milan. The first strategic objective was to develop the potential and various specific features of the exhibition.
129 collections for Spring/Summer 2007 were presented in an absolute preview, with flashes on the Fall/Winter 2006/2007 collections from companies that were expert in producing private labels and ready-to-wear. These were companies that were capable of providing fashion in line with the most cutting edge trends, as well as the scheduled fashion that was traditionally exhibited at the fair.
There were a large number of 'made in Italy' firms attending, which were the true strength of this new ModaPrima event and were emblematic of a modern approach to entrepreneurship. There were numerous firms from the districts around Carpi, and from districts in Campania, Tuscany, Lombardy, Puglia and Veneto. Together they put forward an extremely competitive offering, which makes use of a mix of creativity, professionalism and tried and tested tradition.
Alongside established brands at the exhibition were, such as Lorel, Montegrappa, Qubhà - Cristina Rej by Negozi d'Italia, Sfizio by Plissé, Vezzo by V.T., others are making their debut at ModaPrima. Namely, Giupel, which manufactures the menswear collection by Gabriel Batistuta, Marina Lante della Rovere and Ferruccio Vecchi, I.S.G. Italian Stylistic Group which makes belts for men and women, Nababila, Rose & Thin, Rucon and Yebysa Ibiza. Among the returning brands: Alexander, Antress, Averardo Bessi, Famar, Ypsilon.
