Handlooms & crafts exhibited at Chennai

Handicrafts exhibition is held by Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Artisans Welfare Association and Orissa Handlooms and Handicrafts Fair at Srushti showroom, Chennai.

Started on June 2, 2006, the expo displays pure silk saris with bomkai and double ikkat from Sambalpur, tussar saris and dress materials.

Besides the salwar kameez sets, dupattas and yardage, there were sets decorated with mirror work, Jal work, jehera work and Phulkari embroidery on show at affordable prices.

Dress materials in cotton finishing, Ghagra Cholli, Kurtas, bedspreads, pillow and cushion covers, terra cotta, brass flower vases, black and white metal made out of brass products like jewel cases and small statues of laughing Buddha and gods and goddesses made out of navadhanjas were exhibited.

Curtains will be drawn on the exhibition on June13, 2006.
