Local companies eye exports to North America

At the Caribbean/American Business Expo and Conference, 41 companies from Guyana showcased their products to boost their exports prospects to North America.

Bharrat Jagdeo, President Republic of Guyana said, “Caribbean offers a wide range of economic opportunities, with significant potential for trade and investment, despite several challenges facing the region.”

Jagdeo made these remarks while delivering the feature address at the three-day inaugural Caribbean-American Business Expo and Conference, which concluded on June 4, 2006, in Orlando, Florida.

Guyana plans to capture tourist market on the basis of handicraft products and designed garment.

Local companies eye vast opportunities in Orlando jewelry market that they happened to visit during thier visit.

Government Information Agency (GINA) reported that Guyana was also keen to establish collaborations with these countries.
