An exclusive fair welcoming exhibitor from Leitrim, Donegal, Dublin and Northern Ireland was held at the Leitrim Design House gallery in Carrick-on-Shannon recently.

Besides textile designer Maria Mollahan, the featured artists included other Leitrim-based artists Suzanne Woods and Angela Hope, Sligo-based designer Brigitta Varadi, Jude Young of Belfast, Lynn Kenny and Aisling McLoughlin of Dublin, Fiona Higgins from Donegal, Patricia Kelly from Fermanagh, Catherine Donaghy from Galway and Leitrm-based artist G Isama.

The Fabric Of Life exhibition was a pulsating, diverse mix of styles and artists.

It was as much about shared understanding as differences.

The textile exhibition conveyed the inner world of the designer to life through a varied array of techniques and styles motivated by the local environment.

The exhibitors had one thing in common that of prompting debate and thought about what colour is and what it means both to crafts people and to those who visit the show.

It also illustrated how personal, emotive, subjective our understanding of colour really is.

All range of colours was embodied that notified, shapes and guides they worked upon.

Later on, Leitrim-based silk textile artist Renate Regan will also launch new collections.
