Nonwovens consist of veiled or blanket structures of fibers or filaments consolidated by mechanical, chemical, thermal or combination processes. These products can be divided into two groups; durable (as internal covering of automobiles, base of carpet geotextile and buckrams for ready-to-wear clothes) and disposable (cleaning cloths, absorbent, diapers, agricultural coverings and disposable clothes for the medical-hospital area).
Techtextil editions are presented in even and odd years: Atlanta, Shanghai, Frankfurt, Moscow and São Paulo. In the years 2004 and 2005, these five editions attracted altogether 1,952 thousand exhibitors and more than 35 thousand visitors. The event counts ten product groups for exhibitors that can be applied in 12 areas (described above).
Techtextil addresses exclusively the professionals of the sector and the so called converters, transformers and users, in other words, companies that use technical textiles in the production of final products such as protective clothing, equipment and automotive parts, shoes, hygiene products, and diapers, among others.
