Queen's clothing exhibition at Buckingham Palace shows that a slim look is not a new trend as some of the dresses in exhibition indicate that slim and model figure was hot when queen was in her 20s.

These model figure dresses, mainly in black velvet and duchesse, were designed by Norman Hartnell way back in 1940.

Queen's wardrobe put on display to celebrate her 80th birthday by showcasing 80 evening gowns.

In this exhibition, dresses are arranged as per the colour groups like lemon and extreme saffron, pink and orange, pale aquamarine to jade and emerald, fairytale array of white, cream and gold, blues from delphinium to cobalt.
