Handicraft exhibition 'The Blue Eyes of Freedom' begins

'Ozgurlugun Mavi Gozleri' (The Blue Eyes of Freedom), a handicraft exhibition has been opened by fashion designer Aybüke Baran.

Reason behind this exhibition is to promote and protect traditional Turkish handicrafts by showcasing 360 designs.

Baran collection, inspired by Ataruk's blue eyes, has vast range of handicrafts including shirts, embroidered pillows, scarves, bedclothes, tablecloths, lacy dresses, accessories and lampshades.

Aybüke Baran said that she has tried to express feelings of Anatolian women through needle work.

This exhibition marks 125th birthday of the founder of the Turkish republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
