Gauri and Nainika's Girl from Ipanema presents their collection at Wills Lifestyle India on the second day of the fashion week.
It was a collection that Hollywood beauties like Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth would have loved to step into.
Creating retro glamour wear inspired by the 50s Gauri and Nainika's Girl from Ipanema Spring/Summer 2007 collection was a romantic line that was totally western in form and style.
Resort wear in colours of cream and chocolate in fluid fabrics like crepe, linen and georgette where the theme was strongly reflected in the nautical prints that were the only embellishment for the garments.
Long flowing gowns, body hugging dresses and skirts, wrap blouses, trousers with wide turn-up halter tops and wrap blouses, dresses and pants set the mood for the holiday line.
While the designers did not stray from dual colour story, it was the shapes that moved from fluid to form fitting while hemlines travelled fashionably up and down the legs.
Ramp scorchers where the dramatic wrap kimono dress, twisted strap Empire goddess dress with belt, floor length belted goddess dress, belted shirt kaftan and criss cross halter dress with layered body.
The designing duo has created a line that is pure glamour with large dollops of practical appeal for women around the world.
