Ayesha Depala launches her collection for Spring/Summer season at Wills India Fashion Week 2006. Creating a fashion fusion between the traditional and contemporary, Ayesha Depala's collection for Spring/Summer 2007 is for the contemporary woman who wants something that is timeless yet practical in form and style.

Staying true to western silhouettes that moved from dress, tops, shorts and skirts and a colour story of pale pink, cream and peach; Ayesha added the ethnic touches by using gunmetal, silver and gold gota work which was used with metallic dori tread and oversized buttons.

The fabrics were summer favourites, like cotton, voile and chiffon while styling details included the frill bib edged with silver gota work for blouses and dresses. The hemlines remained true to the summer heat – above the knees. The trapeze line, smock and A line appeared regularly for blouses and dresses and the shorts were an important part of the collection.

Some of the stunners were the cream appliqué cotton jali dress with gold buttons, a dramatic cream Lurex cotton shift dress with circular block prints and sequins with grey organza metallic full sleeves blouse and the line of elegant evening dresses in voile, organza and chiffon which were basic in shape but high on ornamentation as silver appliqués, sequins, pearls and gold added to the glamour.

Ayesha Depala takes the simple shift dress on to a more hauter level for her collection adding Indian craftfor dazzling effect.

Ayesha Depala started out her design career with the launch of her line I-SHA in 2002, after stints at both the prestigious Central St Martins School of Fashion, and The London College of Fashion in UK.
