On the second day of the Wills India Fashion Week 2006, designer Jattin Varma presents his Spring/Summer 2007 collection. It was an ode to the lazy relaxing regions of holiday resorts titled Trip to Spain.
Picking a neutral colour story of white, Jattin had beautifully crafted chiffon garments with linear appliqué spread in geometrical patterns that set the mood of the show.
Soft tunics, dresses, blousoned tops, tie-up dresses all pointed to easy flowing comfort wear.
Gradually bringing in colour in the form of tiny kantha motifs in pale orange, blue and pink on a pristine white background, Jatin burst forth with a pastel colour palette for the finale which had layered flamenco style skirts and tiny cropped tops with swirling sleeves strolling down the ramp.
Adding more colour were the elegant flock prints for the shrug shirts and skirts while intricate kantha over floral patterns created a beautiful feminine touch.
The silhouettes were devoid of any constricting forms, letting the fabrics and garments float around the wearer.
The two finale long gown in white chiffon with shredded hemlines with textured bodices was a perfect end to a comprehensive collection.
Jatin Varma enjoys dressing his women in dreamy elegant garments and that is exactly what these ensembles reflect with their pristine purity.
