Shoe Expos in Seoul to preserve handicraft history

A shoes exhibition under the title of 'History, Art and Fashion of Italian Footwear' will be held at three places namely Apkujeong, Trade Center, and Mok-dong in Seoul.
The Italian Embassy and Italian Institute of Culture (IIC) in Seoul will jointly host the exhibition between September 1 and October 20, 2006.
A variety of Italian shoes including sandals of ancient Greeks and Romans, 18-century shoes, top-quality shoes of Italian fashion will be displayed.
The shoes exhibition is directed at further promoting 120-year-old bilateral relations between Italy and South Korea.
Five centuries of history, design and creativity are dedicated to the story and development of Italian footwear.
Aiming to appreciate and preserve the handicraft history, this event presents the historical and sociological development of the footwear industry.
