Manish Arora presents his fashion collection in paradise on the first day of the Wills India Fashion Week 2006. From the origami birds on the arc lights to the cluster of chicken models on the forest green ramp, to the animal projections on the sides of the walls – the stage was set for a collection that had to be different.
Manish Arora's Spring/Summer 2007 look is a journey through forests and a paradise of animals, birds, fish, flowers, rivers, waterfall, ocean, pearls and trees.
But if Manish concentrated on the skirt for Autumn/Winter 2006 he now takes on to the dress in silhouettes of trapeze, bubble, empire line, smock, shift, teamed with breeches, cigarette pants, tights, shorts, skirts in fabrics that are splashed with all the colours of the rainbow and prints that (although contrasting at times) seem to blend beautifully.
Silks, chiffon, brocade, jacquard, cotton knits, net and organza had 3D appliqués, prints and embroidery of flora and fauna.
Lurex and glitter appeared for edges and tights. Zebra prints romanced with forest greenery. A dramatic multi zig-zag swirling, long pinafore teamed with glittering animal embroidery and a jersey top, a red embroidered peacock mini, a glittering quilted jacket – the list is endless so are the looks and creations.
Many from the audience kept asking whether Manish Arora had outdone his last collection? He definitely has, and Life is Beautiful for the man!
