Twin sisters Sheena Borja and Pamela have created Tamiece which is a fashion line prepared for diminutive women and are selling boat neck tunics at $110 to the fashionistas belonging to San Francisco.
Twin's clothes were paraded by the models during the San Francisco's third annual Fashion Week. This is first time for them to display the line in a show even though their clothes are for sale online and they have also entered two Hayes Valley boutiques.
Borja was ecstatic that it had given them exposure along with plenty of feedback and expressed hope that they will be able to make it to stores in spring.
Local designers are hopeful that since Bay Area fashion is making a mark, the local boutiques and buyers will order their lines after watching their work at the show. San Francisco offers grooming designers chance to succeed.
Mingle boutique owner Mimi Ting said that show provides opportunity for boutiques to find out new talents locally. She works with around 60 designers and sells clothes of many new talents who featured during the show.
Half of the designers participating in the show were experienced three years or less and it was a first for many of them. The event is portrayed as platform for new local talents to get the exposure.
