Curtains closed at the Paris Fashion Week on Sunday October 8, 2006, with the spectacular show from the trendsetter Louis Vuitton who presented spring-summer 2007 line that offered delicate feminine dresses in shades of pink, lilac and pastels.
Major attractions were the floral head-dress, wraps, scarves and most importantly, handbags.
Alexander McQueen unveiled his collection of flamboyant dresses embellished with cherry and lavender flowers that made the model look like a fuzzy wild flower bush.
Head-dresses stole the show one of which flaunted intricate scarlet, white and yellow roses paired with plum chiffon evening gown.
Accessories were hot this year for every brand as while, Chanel displayed exquisite belts, bags, and bangles, Sonia Rykiel offered graceful and stylish headbands.
However many experts do not hold this year's show on the pedestal, explaining that the designers were more interested in earning large profits and focused on the accessories rather than the costumes.
The show was seriously lacking in creativity and freshness, while the artists held themselves back from experimenting with outrageously crazy designs.
Nevertheless, Paris enjoyed a star-studded week with Lenny Kravitz, Kanye West, Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher, Victoria Beckham, Janet Jackson, Kate Bosworth and Katie Holmes turning up to back their favorite designers.
