Actress Ellen Barkin earned $20 million by auctioning over 100 pieces of jewellery, which her ex-husband Ron Perelman, billionaire and Revlon mogul, presented her during five years of their marriage.
Bidders vied fiercely to obtain Ellen's cast-off which were sold at higher rates in the auction. Her jewellery sets were collected lately from traders at big prices.
Fred Leighton, Madison Avenue merchant, informed that jewellery bought in five years was being sold at prices above buying rates, which is happening for the first time.
Ellen's special wedding ring was sold at $156,000 which was much more than expected $30,000 to $50,000. She said she will use auction earnings to finance her production house.
