Mayor Michael Bloomberg has once again chosen Bryant Park to host the 7th on Sixth February show.
Bloomberg agreed that Fashion Week had expanded hugely but added they have not found an appropriate location to shift; the decision was taken after long arguments between Bryant Park Corp (BPC) which manages the venue and IMG, owner of fall and spring events.
BPC has suggested the event be shifted as it has outgrown the 5.5 acres park. 7th on Sixth occupied 10,000 square feet area when it began 13 years back, but it has increased to 87,000 square feet now.
Bloomberg stated that the quest for an appropriate venue needs more analysis and planning. He added BPC and IMG will cooperate with the fashion sector to find a fixed destination for Fashion Week.
