Indian embroidery and textile show from Oct 27 to Nov 4

India-Korea Cultural Exchange Program is running at venues in and around Seoul offering glimpses of rich Indian culture.

The Indian Embassy has arranged embroidery and textile exhibitions and a contemporary art exhibition.

Kutchhy and Kathiawar styles in satins are stitched with floral patterns inset with pieces of reflective material, while Punjabi embroideries display geometric patterns made by counted stitch work. These will be showcased in an exhibition at Sookmyung Women's University Embroidery Museum from October 27 to November 4 with demonstrations by national award winning craftspeople.

The "India-Korea Contemporary Art Exhibition" brings together 15 artists below 40 years from both countries to display their contemporary works at Hangaram Gallery in Seoul Arts Center, from November 7 to December 13.

"Path of Compassion," a photo exhibition on Buddhist sites in India at the SNU museum starts on October 31 and later at Jogeye Temple.

Indian puppet show reflecting the country's regional diversity will be held at Inje University in Gimhae between November 2 and November 12.

A one-day seminar titled "Cultural Interflow between India and Korea: Art, Philosophy and Buddhism" will be held at SNU, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara.
