One of the three fashion shows, which are part of Launceston Fashion Week, is being held on Tuesday night at Motors Ltd's novel showroom on Margaret St, Launceston. Sue Rees, convener of the event, expressed excitement regarding Fashion Week's ability to expand.
She said citizens of Launceston will get a chance to witness fashion trends at upcoming spring and summer functions. She added that good performance in the event will certainly enhance the city's tourism in 2007.
She said she was startled due to the curiosity raised among people by a photo shoot held at the showroom recently.
Ms Rees said she was certain that the event would have progressed by next year. She informed that Myer apparel will be exhibited in Tuesday's show, whose gains will be donated to The Examiner Empty Stocking Fund.
Thursday's show will display garments of eight fashion outlets and its gains will be donated to Make-A-Wish foundation, while Saturday's show will present apparel of another seven outlets whose gains will be donated to youth suicide project Time Out.
