US markets hold promise

K design- an enterprise designing and producing traditional handloom clothing claims to have impressed many US buyers when it debuted at apparels trade show held in New York last month.

According to Proprietor, Rahel Zewde, company was going to make inroads in US market and eight buyers had already put their orders for sample products. The products attracted buyers because they were handmade having beautiful color combination and designs.

With help from US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank, two Ethiopian handicraft industries and seven garment manufacturing units also participated in New York trade show along with K Design. The participants have got positive response from the US firms.
