After overwhelming participants from VIP buyers and major players from the textile industry from October 3-5, 2006, TITAS 2006 came to a perfect closure.
Facing severe competition after the abolishment of quotas in textiles, Taiwan has now established itself as the newest procurement center that emphasized on both functionality and fashion at TITAS by this major event.
This year, a total of 265 vendors participated in the conference with 463 booths. Among the participants, international vendors from 10 countries and regions that included China and India set up special pavilions.
The conference was divided into the following zones: Fiber/Yarns, Functionality and Fashion, Home wear/Industrial textiles, Sub-materials/Accessories, Certification service organizations, Cross-strait Textile, and Other Related Services.
Clear signs and easy-to-follow directions allow participants to access each area conveniently and to view the latest development in Asia's textile industry.
The representation of vendors from different areas are shown in the following percentages: Fibers/Yarns (5 percent), Fashion/Functional textiles (28 percent), Home/Industrial textiles (7 percent), Sub-materials/Accessories (17 percent), Certification Services Organizations (6 percent), Cross-Strait textiles (10 percent), Other Related Services (20 percent), and Textile Machineries (7 percent).
During the 3 days of exhibition in TITAS 2006, long lines constantly gathered with buyers at the registration desk. According to the organizer's calculation, domestic and international buyers from 45 countries (including Taiwan) attended this event, with the total number of 18000 attendees.
