Durban is arranging a fiesta which will capture a glance at the culture of North Eastern states of India. The festival, which runs from 9-22 November will be launched on Thursday with an Indian Film Festival at the Cinema Nouveau, Gateway.

The principal quality of this celebration will be the food festival to be held at the Elangeni Hotel's Continental Restaurant which will showcase the food of this "lesser-known but beautiful region of India".

Two folk dance troupes from the states of Assam and Manipur are also expected to mesmerize the audiences with their original and "different" Indian dance moves.

A fusion fashion show to be held on November 14 at the Elangeni Hotel will focus on accessories and handcrafts such as bags, jewellery and shawls.
