Hablon Fashion Fair 2006, sponsored by Department of Trade and Industry, Provincial Government and Metro Dinagyang Jaycees, is all set to begin tomorrow, at the Kawayan Market Week in Iloilo displaying chic creations by several renowned local designers, which will also strengthen ties among weavers from different regions.
Tonight a fashion show 'Hablon Moda' has been organized at Robinson's Place where Jaki Peñalosa, Don Protasio, Angelette Borja Ragus, Eric de los Santosa and hablon guru PJ Arañador are expected to present their best works.
Domestic weavers from provinces of Miag-ao and Barangay Indag-an have been in collaboration with Arañador and have successfully accepted stylish trends and designing aspects in their crafts.
Over 80 percent of hablon fabrics used by the designers for this event comes from Miag-ao and Oton.
