Sharjah Ramadan Festival sales turnover reaches Dh400mn

Retail sales worth Dh400 million were recorded in the 17th year celebrations of Sharjah Ramadan Festival. Sales increase was registered between 2-15 percent in several business sectors.
Sharjah's Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi was present at the festival's inaugural ceremony.
Saeed Obaid Al Jarwan, Director General, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is also a member of this festival's organizing committee, informed that 2,200 shops and commercial stores took part in the festival.
Sale of consumer products shot up 15 percent this year; readymade clothing and leather goods recorded 13.7 percent upswing and that of electronics and electrical appliances went up 11.4 percent.
Gold jewellery and watches sales rose 8 percent, while that of furniture and home furnishings grew 7.6 percent.
Total number of marketing villages in UAE, including general and specialized ones reached the figure of 20 while entertainment sites rose to 18. Besides, 25 shopping centers and central markets were among those participants at the festival.
