Chinese President Hu Jintao left for Beijing yesterday, after successful four-day visits to each, India and Pakistan, where he discussed the several possible bi-lateral investment opportunities and joint-ventures.
He also inaugurated first cooperative economic zone near Lahore that is expected to be the largest home appliance production base in Pakistan.
The two countries also inked an FTA, to be executed from July 2007, which will cut-down export-import duties to nil for many products and offer significant discounts on textiles.
"This project symbolises the widening and deepening of economic relations between China and Pakistan," Jintao said.
Pakistan hopes to get around five billion dollar Chinese investment in the next five years.
Besides FTA the two countries signed 18 other agreements most of them related to trade and investment.
