The forth and last round of the Textile Export workshops is going to take place in December 2006 in Cairo.

The Textile Export workshop has been established by the SME Promotion Program of the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), the Turkey-based textile consulting company “Systain”, a member of the German Otto Group, the German Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Berlin-based Global Project Partners (GPP).

The aim is to open doors to businesses and enterprises working in the textile sector, which are targeting the German market in particular and/or the EU market in general.

In the workshops the organizers are taking the initiative to help Egyptian exporters of textiles and ready-made garments to deal with the challenges of competition in the EU market.

The forth workshop comprises three days and is discussing the following topics:

1.Supply Chain Management (day 1)
2.Design and Development (day 2)
3.How to export to Europe (day 3)

Participation fees: LE 300 per person.

Workshop date: Cairo 3 - 5 December 2006 at 09.00 a.m
Place: At the premises of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Cairo

The textile industry is one of the backbones of the Egyptian economy. Egyptian cotton is considered to be amongst the finest cotton in the world. However, a considerable share of it is exported without any value added in the country. Many companies in the Egyptian textile industryalready produce with Egyptian cotton and try to get a competitive advantage in a more and more difficult market.
