When it comes to fashion, every one look up to Paris as it is the Mecca of the fashion world.
Ten designers from the world of Paris fashion are presenting their latest creations in the Boston's Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), “Fashion Show,”. This event was organized by Pamela Parmal, the museum's curator of textile and fashion arts.
The “Fashion Show” features ready-to-wear and couture looks from ten top designers of Paris.
Galliano's collection for Dior is inspired from French Revolution is very theatrical. Spectacular red coats with extra-large collars and giant belts are presented against a mirrored red background.
The most revolutionary designers are Martin Margiela and Jenny Meirens. Their “artisanal” collection offered some unique garments. The combination of waistcoat made of the same material used for sandals—is undeniably futuristic.
Femininity is the focal point of Valentino's designs. His dresses were embedded with details like ruffles, bows, and beading.
Chanel, the essence of French fashion, got the most attention. Each of his designs were a piece of handicraft which depict the kind of labour were engaged.
The presentation from Lacroix, another couture icon, concluded the show. His collection had Spanish touch, featuring confections of tulle, sequins, and lace.
This new exhibition is a first for Boston and the first of its kind. The splendor and extravagance of the show has enthralled the audience.
