In Tsinga Trade Fair, authorities of the Ministry of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, and the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Handicraft discussed the role of social economy and handicraft in national economic development.

Professionals in handicraft sector, researchers, economic experts and representatives of media exchanged views about the slowing down of activities that can boost the national economy.

Discussion is connected with the same topic of last year when the whole idea was introduced.

Current year's theme includes handicraft production, improving competitiveness and employment.

Although participation was weak in the discussion, debate was intense and purposeful.

In accordance with percentage, it is difficult to state that handicraft sector is contributing to economy but it plays vital role in enhancement of the economy.

Handicraft sector employs more than 55 percent of the population and it accounted for 50 percent of Gross National Product (GNP) in 2003.
