Persian Carpets LLC holds exhibition of Oriental rugs

About 2,500 types of carpets are on sale at Persian Carpets Exhibition, which commenced at InterContinental Hotel on December 20, 2006. It has been held for last few years.
Some carpets are more than a century old. They are made of only silk or silk and wool and offered in a price range of RO80-RO8,000. Persian Carpets LLC is the organizer of this eight day event which is displaying carpets of several nations.
Iran is the major country amongst these, along with Turkey, Caucaus, India, parts of Central Asia and Afghanistan. Carpets of Persia are called 'Oriental rugs'.
Fresh as well as antique carpets which are classy and artistic with rich knotting are available. Some possess simple but graceful appearance which reminds of humble nomads and tribes.
Also showcased are shawls, handicrafts, kilims and wall hangings. Vibrant designs and colours will lighten up spirit of the buyers.
