Textile industry requested Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to provide financial assistance to the exhibitors who are planning to take part in Heimtexil Fair.
They requested President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar and Textile Minister Mushtaq Ali Cheema to grant all exhibitors 75 percent of total expense of fair.
All the exporters, who are planning to take part in fair scheduled to be held in January 2007, are not selected by the TDAP for providing stalls at subsidised rates.
Heimtextil is one of the biggest textile fairs in the world and it provides business for the whole year to textile industry.
But financial crises are depriving textile industry to take part in this fair. In post-quota regime, textile industry mainly depends on Heimtextil and other such fairs for acquiring business orders.
