EVTEKS 2007 – Istanbul Home Textile Exhibition will be organized by Istanbul Trade Fairs- ITF with the support of the Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (EVSIAD) and the Turkish Home Textile Industrialists Association (TETSD) at CNR Expo 16-20 May, 2007.
As the world's second largest home textile fair, EVTEKS 2007 put Turkey's enterprising, competitiveness and quality production in the global spotlight, creating a prestigious platform in the process.
In this context, the fair's goal is to exhibit quality Turkish brand home textiles in a global market worth an annual $20 billion, while aiding domestic producers obtain a larger share in the market.
The local textile and sub-sectors experienced a number of serious problems in 2006 such as a deflated exchange rate policy, overwhelming Chinese competition and spiraling labor costs.
However, with a combined export / domestic annual sales volume of $3 billion, the 13th edition of EVTEKS will continue to offer the local world endless possibilities in bringing together domestic/foreign manufacturers and buyers together under the same roof in a freely competitive system.
50 percent of all trade created through EVTEKS is comprised of exports to countries in the EU and North America.
The Primary Goal is to become a Regional Power Becoming a regional power bears great importance in considering that interest in large fairs is on the wane nowadays as the weight of the global economy makes more of an impact.
For this reason, it is the goal of EVTEKS 2007 to consolidate its regional leadership by attracting neighboring countries to the fair and having this reciprocate in exports to these countries.
