WJD 2006 witnesses more participation

Top trendsetting expo of the Middle East for jewellery and watches, Watch & Jewellery Dubai (WJD) 2006 was a big hit. There were 14,192 visitors this year, which is 63 percent higher than last year, along with 383 participating firms from 24 nations.

Deals worth millions of AED were conducted effectively in this expo, bringing in considerable business and profit for enterprises in future.

Local brands like Damas, Dhamani, Samra and Istana along with global giants including Europearls, Rosy Blue, Chantila, Eros and Forever Jewels took part in the 12th edition of this event.

New events were introduced in WJD 2006 for first time, like Diamond Industry Roundtable and also Jewellery Gala Event of the Year co-sponsored by Rosy Blue which comprised Watch & Jewellery Industry Awards.

Damas bagged awards for Best Retail Chain, Best UAE Designer as well as the Dubai Gold Award at the event. Another attraction which lured visitors was 'Catwalk of Jewels' hosted by Damas.
