Kenneth Beja
Creator of the streetwear label, Getto Star, Beja initially worked as a buyer for a large department store. This job enabled him to attend fashion shows around the world. It was through these trips that he realised that it was possible to have a brand in Africa that is not entirely ethnic.

He launched the Getto Star label in 2000 but a lack of funding saw the brand disappear from shelves. The brand's resurgence is due to the major clothing distributor, LA group, coming on board. LA Group, who markets labels such as Polo, Converse, and Dickies, has taken over the marketing and promotion of Ghetto Star.

Getto Star clothes are strikingly, youthful, trendy, and street smart. Beja believes in using materials of the highest quality to create an original, fresh and funky look that captures the attitude of city youth and reflects its confidence.

Beja believes that his brand's success will rely on an on-going process of re-invention and continuous marketing. Beja has a seemingly-natural business acumen and has high hopes for his Getto Star label.
