Malaysian fashion designer Alice Stella Kelsey's collection of evening dresses and swimwear made from 'batik', a kind of local fabric, has been appreciated by Bosnian people.

At Sarajevo Fashion Week held in Bosnia during 2006-end, models walked the ramp in Kelsey's 20 batik outfits. These comprised men's clothes, evening and cocktail dresses, swimsuits with matching pareos etc.

Garments designed from hand dyed textiles were exhibited at a fashion show in Bosnia for first time in this event. Sarajevo media covered the event very well.

Kelsey arranged a fashion show for Bosnian designers in Bangkok during 2006. It was then that she was invited for the Sarajevo week.

Kelsey informed the media that she was happy with response given by Bosnians. Switzerland Tourism Office has invited her for promoting batik.

She is currently using batik to design beddings, telephone cases, mats and other items. She wants to design batik products for resorts and beaches in Malaysia and California.
