Textile exhibition to encourage women of Harare

Textile, paint and sculptor exhibition, named "Woman of Stone and Cloth" opened on March 12 in Harare to identify the creativity and resourcefulness of Zimbabwean women.

This exhibition, which is dedicated to this year's 'Women's History Month', displays creations of top women artists from Harare and Bulawayo.

Twenty-four Zimbabweans, 11 from Bulawayo and 13 from Harare, as well as internationally acclaimed American textile artists Saaraliisa Ylitalo are featured in the exhibition.

Female painters and sculptors coming from Harare include Florence James, Doreen Sibanda, Agnes Nyanhongo, Portia Zvavahera and Virginia Chihota while from Bulawayo, Shamilla Aasha, Stella Ndebele, Sikhulile Sibanda and Primrose Tshuma with some others are showcasing their creations.
