On the opening day, Monday, March 12, 2007 Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka was the Guest of Honour.
The four-day event was hosted by Jewellery Council of South Africa and sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry and

This kind of event is held in Africa for the first time.
